The other day I was giving the little man a bottle like usual. As we were sitting there enjoying the snuggle time, he started to choke on his milk. It wasn’t anything major, but it was enough that I sat him fully upright.
In the next second, I watched fear wash over his face. He was scared because he couldn’t breathe. In another second, he realized he was fine, and he happily went back to his bottle.
Those couple seconds really got me thinking… Even though I watched fear flash across my dear little boy’s face, I knew the entire time that he was going to be perfectly fine.
Does God ever look at us the same way I looked at my son when we are fearful about something in our lives? Obviously He knows if things are going to be alright. {And, let’s face it, they normally are.} Does He wonder why we panic when He knows everything will work out fine?
This made me think that I really need to put more faith in God. I have a bad tendency to worry and be fearful, even when I know there’s not a good reason for it. My husband reminds me of this regularly, but I still worry and get apprehensive of things for no apparent reason. I’m sure God simply looks at me and shakes his head from time to time, knowing everything will be fine.
It’s a path I continue to struggle down, but every day I hope I can get just a little bit better.

July 2017 update – This is something I consider to battle and struggle with. I’ve found essential oils help me focus more and worry less. Plus the fact that I now love my job as a work at home mom more than any position I’ve held in the past. We are all a consistent work in progress! But with continued work, prayer, and belief in God – we can and will be better.
