We hear about it every day in the tabloids, online, on the radio, and more. Cheating. Divorce. Perfectly happy marriages (at least to start) that didn’t end so well. So how do we stay faithful in a world that suggests it’s ok to let go and move on?
1. Keep temptation at bay.
2. Drink in moderation.
3. Pray for strength.
This is the one bullet I need to get better about. I’m good about thanking God for all that he’s done for me, but I struggle with asking him for help. It’s as if I don’t think I’m good enough to deserve His help. Slowly I’m getting better, and when I hear or see things that may make me unfaithful to my husband – I pray.
4. Surround yourself with good.
5. Think about what you might lose.
If avoiding the situation or people who might cause you to cheat aren’t working, then think about what you stand to lose. Think about your spouse. Think about your children. Think about your finances or your home. Think about your relationship with God. Whatever it is that you cherish, think about that and how it could change. Are you willing to risk it?
6. Focus on the good.
7. Talk to your partner.
