I love Italian food! More specifically, I love chicken alfredo and I love pasta! So when I realized as a kid that the two could be combined, I was in heaven! When I graduated from college and realized I could make it from the comfort of my own home – WOOHOO! I believe a party may have been thrown!
This is seriously a super easy meal that can quickly be thrown together when you get home from work in about 30 minutes. It’s nothing fancy at all, but it definitely curbs my desire for chicken alfredo and pizza!
All you need is four ingredients! {Well, five if you count the water sometimes needed for a package of pizza crust.} So grab a package of pizza crust (or a premade one), however much chicken you want on your pizza (we used four tenderloins), a jar of chicken alfredo, and some cheese (we used about two cups).
Create your pizza crust according to the directions on the package. We wanted a thin crust pizza to have lower calories, but you can definitely go with two packages for a thicker crust. Or – if you prefer – use a pre-made crust!
Also cook your chicken. We simply boiled ours on the stove. To make the recipe even easier, you can buy pre-cooked, pre-cut chicken breasts. It’s really up to you!
I may have misled you a little bit with the four ingredient bit. You can certainly make this pizza with just the four ingredients I listed. But I also put some seasoning on our pizza. My pizza favorite is oregano. I didn’t realize that it makes the pizza until recently. But – if you’ve never used it before, less is more. Start with just a half teaspoon. If you don’t think that’s enough, try more the next time you make this recipe.
Spread your alfredo sauce on the crust. We used one cup, but we’ve used up to two – depending on how much sauce we want and how many calories. Add any seasonings, if you so choose.
Evenly disperse your cut chicken on top of the sauce. You could also add any other vegetables or toppings you might like – such as scallions, mushrooms, spinach, or olives. I’ve also wanted to try bacon with this, but I never think about it until after the fact.
Then cook your pizza according to the directions on your pizza crust. Watch it closely, as I feel those packages are often wrong. And it also depends what you’re using to cook it on. I’m a huge fan of stones! I’ve used all brands from Pampered Chef to Wal-Mart, and I truly haven’t met a stone I didn’t like!
Take out of the oven with caution. Cut. Cool. Enjoy!
