It seems that a sweets table, or candy bar, seems to be pretty popular at weddings. Since my love for chocolate is so strong, we decided that a candy bar is a must! Thus the search for various containers started.
I got this beauty for just $1 at a thrift store. I knew it would be great with a little red spray paint!
The total cost for everything in the picture below was about nine bucks. YEA! You can see the plate from above in the upper right side of the picture.
My favorite thing about the candy bar is this canister set. LOVE! I basically stole it at a rummage sale for $7 and then bought just a couple bucks in paint, a drop cloth (I am a paint slob!), and some foam brushes. It’ll be great for organizing something around our house after the big day.
The plan is to buy red and white candy at Christmas and Valentine’s Day (after the holidays) to get plenty of bang for our buck. {You could call me cheap, but I prefer economical and frugal. ๐ }
Edit – We ended up spending roughly $100 on candy the day after Valentine’s Day when it all went on sale. We actually ended up with too much candy, but at least we didn’t run out!
Stay tuned – I’ll be sharing more diy projects and showing you more wedding details in the next few days.
