Iced coffee is great in the summer months! Not having any type of coffee houses, fast food, or other options around – I decided to make my own at home. There are a lot of different DIY iced coffee recipes on the internet. This one is about as easy as they come! No cold brewing, just simple mixing.
I’m not the least bit picky when it come to coffee. Keep in mind, there are NOT a lot of coffee options in this town. I can stop by the nearest convenience store, go to the cafe, or make my own. The end. {That or drive 30 miles for a local coffee shop. Yum! But it’s not realistic on a regular basis.} With that in mind, here’s my easy coffee recipe!
I have to start by saying I love our Bunn Coffee pot! It’s a genty-used, but new to us model. It took me a little while to get used to because I’m not an avid coffee drinker. I go through phases where it sounds good, and there are other times where I go months with out…
Finally — the recipe!
I made the full 10 cups of coffee. We had a dark roast blend today, but I’ve used all types of flavors before. Use what you like. =)
I then poured the coffee into a pitcher. After that I add a quarter cup each of white sugar and brown sugar. (Well, let’s be honest here. I like my coffee a bit sweet – so I like to add a half cup of each. BUT my hubs also likes iced coffee and he only wants me to use 1/4 cup. So my recommendation is for you to start with 1/4 cup and add more if you want it sweeter.) Finally add a full cup milk. We only have skim in the house right now, but you could add any that you like.
Give the coffee a good stir, put it in the fridge, and you’ll be all set once it’s chilled! Easy, peasy!
Here’s the easy to print version for you:
- 10 cups coffee (any flavor)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (more if you like)
- 1/4 cup white sugar (more if you like)
- 1 cup milk
Do you have any variations you recommend? I would like to continue experimenting for the rest of the summer!
